Jennet Oboe Reed, handmade, small tip openings

I decided to try some reeds for my students since I don't have as much time to make them anymore. I ordered 2 Jennet reeds. They will need a lot of work and other than being slightly scraped they are essentially unfinished. Since I am able to work on them myself that's not a big problem, but I would not suggest them for someone who is not yet capable of finishing them.

I am not really good at making oboe reeds so sometimes I splurge. Sometimes they make them way to short to play in tune anywhere. I live in Arizona at 7000 ft so sometimes they don't work at all. Most of the time, however they work pretty well. I have had some tubes that fit my mandril, so it's not a total waste of money if they don't turn out right.
