Product Description

Use the selection menu to select the diameter you want.

*Our house-processed cane is meticulously sorted for a center gouge between 58-60mm.  Keep in mind that different micrometers may give different readings than expected.  Do not use a micrometer meant for finished reeds - meaning a micrometer with a narrow, more pointed indicator.  This is not an accurate reading of the center gouge.*

  1. Warped Cane 2 Star Review

Posted by on 15th Feb 2016

I ordered 10 pieces of 10-10.5 Alliaud Gouged Oboe Cane and every piece was warped. In the future, I would highly appreciate if I was shipped straight cane.

  2. Not Usable 1 Star Review

Posted by on 29th Jun 2015

I ordered some gouged cane from Midwest (4 different varieties) and this cane is unusable. It is far too soft and porous-- a suitable reed could never be produced from these pieces. It looks like shredded wheat underneath the bark. Some of the pieces were so porous that they sunk immediately upon being put into water from being DRY. Don't purchase this cane and waste your time and money trying to make a reed from this. Just not usable.
